Orbit One is one of Scandinavia’s leading and most experi­enced manufacturers of electronics and electro­me­chanics. With almost 60 years of experience, Orbit One is now a stable company built on the foundation of visionary entre­pre­neurs and active owners. Orbit One’s roots date back to the early 1960s, when the business belonged to multi­na­tional companies like Ericsson, Nokia, ICL and HGL.

Acqui­sition of Flextronics in Ronneby

Orbit One acquires the Flex (formerly Flextronics) production unit in Ronneby, with focus on manufacturing services and logistics for electronics in the industrial and infrastructure segments.

2010
Acqui­sition of Distatic in Stockholm

Orbit One acquires the contract manufacturer Distatic, whose primary speci­ality is proto­typing and production of small rapid series.

Acqui­sition of Siemens Building Technology in Stockholm

Orbit One takes over the manufacturing of electro­me­cha­nical actuators for Siemens BT. The deal makes Orbit One one of the strongest contract manufacturers of electronics in the Stockholm region.

2009
Acqui­sition of Wega Electronics in Poland

Orbit One acquires the majority of the contract manufacturer Wega Electronics, with a factory in Prabuty, south of Gdansk in Poland.

2006
Opening of unit in Russia

Orbit One opens a production unit in Kaliningrad in Russia. The opera­tions in Russia were subse­quently wound up in 2022 due to the conflict in Ukraine.

2005
Acqui­sition of Mici Electronics

Orbit One acquires Mici Elekt­ronik AB, thus further strengthening the company’s expertise primarily in the areas of medical technology and telecommunications/alarm commu­ni­cation.

2003
MBO – Orbit One AB is established

Through an MBO, Management Buy Out, Christer Malm and Mats Johansson acquire HGL i Ronneby AB. The following year, the company changes name to Orbit One with the goal of being the most cost-effective operator on the market.
